Day one: The jourmey

Leaving is always tough for some.  Dad moreso.  He stresses about everything.  We have a 430 am start and he's literally sweating before we even get the shuttle.

The drive, the lines, and inspections all compound the situation so when we finally are in and waiting to board, I am trying to find a way to relax him.

1 pair of headphones, and our older IPAD with all his favorite Scottish songs saves the day!  I think half the airport now know the words to "I belong tae Glasgow", because he has no idea how loud he's singing!

Our layover is in Philly.  Two hours to kill...nuff said.

The rest is a blur and plane rides are boring so I will skip though it's still technically day 1

Having spent so much time here when I was young, I have to admit...when saw this sign I got a little choked.

Dad's cousin William (he'll be shown later) dropped us off at John Blackwood (my cousin below).  A full two hours later... John and I are down in Broughty Ferry.  I still haven't slept!  And then he shows up with a Corona...??!!  To the quality beer deprived in the US this is sacrilege, I know.
