Last day and a half was touring Glasgow.

I'm sitting in Billy Connoly's seat and Dad is sitting in Rod Stewart's seat

and hanging out with William and Gary.

That's all folks.  Off back to America.  I think Dad and I are going to sleep for a week after this trip, but it has been great making new memories.

Family pics

In case you were looking for an update, it's been a bit of a whirlwind going to visit family and wrapping up our adventure.  Rather than go into all the details, I'll just post all the family pics and let it be.

For those I left out (there are only a few), I'm really sorry that I forgot to take a picture while we visited.  I've posted a pic of us from last visit so at least you'll look younger in the photos!

We have one more day until we head for home.  Talk tomorrow!

Day 9: The Black Isle

Just when you thought we didn't drive enough, today we clocked over 400 miles.   Here is a link to the TRAIL

We left that great inn at Glenelg and headed for the "Black Isle" of Skye.  The isle is truly ancient in every way.  First we stopped to see Eilean Donan Castle.  It's an iconic castle and used in movies regularly.

We traveled to Portree, the capital, for breakfast and then moved on to see the sights.

After Portree we crossed to the West side and drop the loop from west to east.

There is a little single track road out of Uig that takes you to Quiraing.   There is so much info for all these places.  Use the links if you're interested, otherwise, just enjoy the pictures

We moved on down the road to the Old Man of Storr   I did the 1.25 mile hike up the mountain (definitely only for those equipped for it.  Many were not and turned back).  It was worth the ascent though.  One of the highlights of this trip for me!

The rest is driving home... boring :)   Hope you are liking these as much as we are!
